J.A. Air Center names David Ufen as Director of Avionics

J.A Air Center is proud to welcome David Ufen as J.A Air Center’s Director of Avionics. David will be responsible for the management of Avionics sales, installation, and program development. David’s leadership role will also include marketing and vendor relations.

David comes from an active career in Aviation beginning in 1998 with his first role as line crew technician at Indianapolis Aviation. Expanding his career to exclusively pursue Avionics, David went on to Bloomington Avionics and then Elliott Aviation. David specializes in the entire Garmin product line specifically the G1000 on the King Air series of aircraft. His extensive background also includes experience with Universal Avionics, AirCell, Rockwell Collins, and Honeywell product lines.

David attended The Aviation Technology Center of Vincennes University where he obtained his FAA Certified Aircraft and Powerplant license (A&P). “My entire career has been in Aviation, with the focus on maintenance and avionics. I’m proud to be a part of the J.A. Air Center team, as we further expand our service into the Turbo Prop and Jet market.”

J.A Air Center, formerly known as Joliet Avionics, has been serving the Aviation Industry since 1965. Expanding to the Aurora Municipal Airport in 2009, J.A Air Center was voted the #1 FBO by AIN Magazine in 2011. In addition to the full service FBO, J.A Air Center offers aircraft detailing, pt 145 repair station, FAA approved flight training, private charter and management, parts, pilot shop, aircraft sales and rental, and Avionics installation and repair.
